This piece was gracefully written and your blog portion was so relatable. My last and final time trying to be on instagram was just frustrating. I posted my poems, tried to get interaction from other writers, but no matter what I did I didn't get real interaction from people actually wanting to read. I put my focus into Substack more and I'm happy for it.

Yes, it’s very different over there to here. I prefer it here.

You absolutely get to choose how you share your creative work with the world. Being fully known and seen can come with this idea of having to live in a very certain kind of way and you don't have to do that. I am focusing on a penname because I am not doing this for fame. I want my work to be known, but me the human, that's just for those that earn the right to know me. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this.

Thank you, and I agree. I published my first poetry book in 2021. I didn’t publish it for fame, or money. I just wanted to share my words and hold a book with my name on it. I appreciate a pen name. Not everybody needs to know everything about you.

I resonate so deeply and can’t imagine handling more than one platform. I’m on Facebook, though I rarely go there. I’ve thought of sharing my poems, but it feels like too much, like the edge of burnout. Instagram crossed my mind for more reach, yet like you, I want my words to gain momentum naturally. I love writing and reading, and being part of a community of good writers is about far more than starting a collection, it’s about inspiration, growth and, most importantly, human kindness. <3

Yes, the community is so nice here. I’m on Facebook because I started out there, and I’ve worked hard to get my page where it is. But the community, for me, is here. Facebook is kind of impersonal.

It is a worthwhile aspiration to leave some light behind, something that people can appreciate for what it is.

I love reading the words that you leave for us, and hope that they will continue to find their place here, so long as you feel comfortable doing so.

This is the only social media that I do these days. I just don't have the emotional energy to keep running on more than one treadmill, and come here for the community and the reading.

And thank you for providing that.

Thank you for being here. It does get tiring, juggling so many different platforms. Still finding my feet here.

You are doing great. Nothing worthwhile is handed to us. We hue it from inside ourselves, like steel bits carving coal from the seam face, and then have to separate the black rock from the diamonds within.

Somehow this feels like getting a glimpse behind the screen.. I think Sunstack is the pace where we can feel seen because baring your soul is actually more courageous than showing your face.. Here poetry is still appreciated and I keep feeling like it's a form of group therapy. πŸ€—
