The sea calls my name in quiet waves, a voice woven through salt and wind; it tugs at my chest like a tide, slow, insistent, drawing me towards brackish depths and driftwood-littered shores; I long to stand in the shallows, sand between my toes, the scent of brine in my tousled hair; this yearning pulls at something deep in meβ a place that remembers a home before I do.
I have only been to the sea once. this makes me miss something I don't even have. I do remember how beautiful it was and how wonderfully small it made me feel. thank you for giving me that memory again.
Beautiful,Jo! Currently at the beach so really enjoyed this lovely poem πβ¨
Thank you, Maya. Lucky you! Enjoy. π€π
I feel drawn to the beach now. Great piece! The sand, the tide, the brine. I can smell it! <3

Youβre very welcome!
Beautiful. Feels and sounds like home. A Northumberland coastline. π
Thank you! Iβve never been to Northumberland but I really need to go, if only to visit Bamburgh. I donβt even live that far away.
Oh definitely. Bamburgh has to be one of the best beaches in the UK.
I first saw the beach and castle on Robin of Sherwood, the TV show from the 80βs. Itβs definitely a place that is firmly on my bucket list.
Gosh that's a blast from the past. I'm hearing North Berwick (Scottish) is beautiful too. We're so lucky to have such a gorgeous coastline.
Beautiful! The ocean is my reset button.
Thank you! Mine too.
Such a captivating and soothing piece
Thank you.
I live at the beach
Itβs pouring with rain
Reading this, Iβll reach for a coat
and go down to the sea again..
Yes! Do it. π
